For sale: 500 British cars (and a museum)
There's something about the scent of old British cars...

Part leather, part steel and part oil, with a faint hint of damp carpet, it's an aroma redolent of recalcitrant window wipers, mechanical breakdowns and cracked upholstery, but also of a distinct and indisputable style.

They’re not for everyone, those antiquated and once ubiquitous, bulbous wonders of the Empire, but they’re unquestionably a part of our history.

The late Ian Hope knew that. He had a singular fascination with the British automobile and spent a lifetime creating what is – disputably, perhaps – the largest museum of British cars in the world.
The new owner of the museum has been selling off most of the cars, on local auction website TradeMe (as seller BarnFindNZ).

A number of Marinas have been sold or are for sale. Darren Brent has bought a pickup and shipped it to Australia.

Here are the Marinas currently available :-

1972 Morris Marina TC Coupe $6,500 £3,300

1980 Morris 1700 $6,800 £3,500
