Being a classic car enthusiast part of the fun for me is to vanish from the Mrs for a couple of days and re-appear with a new toy. I have winged it up and down the UK for cars and buses and from memory heres some of my Locations.

Edinburgh to Southampton – Leyland Olympian double deck bus
Edinburgh to Southampton – Leyland Olympian double deck bus (returned a few weeks later to collect her sister)
Edinburgh to Bournemouth - Marina 1.8 coupe
Edinburgh to Rochester (Kent) – Austin A60 Cambridge
Edinburgh to Deal - Kent – Riley RME
Edinburgh to Cardigan/ Wales – Wolseley 16/60
Edinburgh to Whitechurch/ Wales again – Morris 1100
Edinburgh to Glasgow – Austin A60
Edinburgh to Birmingham – Austin A60
Edinburgh to Doncaster – Austin Marina Van
Edinburgh to Pontiland – Morris Marina Van
Edinburgh to Stoke on Trent – Marina 1.3 SDL
Edinburgh to Oxford – Wolseley 16/60
Edinburgh to Glenrothes Wolseley 16/60
Edinburgh to Oldham – Wolseley 16/60
Edinburgh to Devises (just popped down for a look at a bus)
Edinburgh to Warrik Services – Swapped a B10M for an old Tiger and gained some cash for the difference
Edinburgh to Swindon – Austin Allegro, then finished off by visiting the BL rally at Ferry Meadows with the allegro on Tow.

That’s about all I can think of at the moment and no doubt there will be more in the future

last year i covered over 2000 miles for cars with either sean, stevie or te auld yin. good fun seeing all those different places and findng all sorts of cars lying all over the place.

I travelled to just above Thirsk for the TC. I live near Torquay.......

A 688 mile round trip in a day. Was well worth it though 8)

Furthest I've traveled for a car was 100 miles round-trip. I lived in an area with many classic cars. I've had nine altogether, but I'm not stopping there. In the near future I'm hoping to travel to England and bring myself back an Ital, so that may be the greatest distance I will ever travel for a car.

I think that if there was prizes to be won for furthest obtained car then Mr Norway Trumph would win it lol. He gets his cars delivered in shipping containers from the other side of the world

Well they still are Leyland motors. forgot to add that I went to Inverness 2 years ago to collect a Daimler Fleetline from Rapsons (formally Highland Scottish) That trip terminated at Glasgow as thats where I delivered the bus to then I got barred for smoking in the shed lol W4nker$

how many road trips do you think we will go on this year ? ive done 2 already.

I travelled by train to Leeds from S/Wales to get my first Ital pickup
I drove from S/Wales to kent to trailer home my second pickup
I travelled by bus fom S/Wales (10 hours)to Newcastle to buy my HiLux
I travelled by train to Sheffield to buy my Motor home
I flew from Cardiff to Edinburgh to buy my Pajero
But furthest was in 1982 when I got a 72 hour rail excursion to Brussells to buy a brand new Metro for £1600 + £160 tax (about a grand behind UK prices at the time)then drove it home to S/Wales

agee with you musky, if you want it bad enough you got to do the travelling.

London -Kilmarnok to pick up an old London Transport bus -the throttle cable was seized so I had a top speed of only 35mph - the longest night of my life 18 hours total return leg journey time in the bus to South Mymms
Copenhagen via London - Totnes -pickuped Marina then back with it to Copenhagen via Wolverhampton & London

I Travelled to Llanelli, South Wales for VBX (my Marina) back to Cambuslang, that was 460 miles, Me and my Dad travelled to Exeter for our Talbot Alpine that was about the same again. Me and my dad also once drove a bus from Carnwath to Surrey, just to drop it off.
