TC finally gets its full restoration

To be fair, I'd never really been happy with the way the TC looked and it always needed a full restoration. It might have taken well over a year to gather together all the relevant body panels and other parts that the TC needed but I've now got them. I'd intended to work on the restoration through the summer but, on speaking with Bluecoupe, I knew that no one would be able to do the car justice in the same way he could (YFC 337L is testament to that!!). He is now the new owner of the TC and I'm delighted to see that work's already well underway!!

Here are some pics of the car as it was yesterday...

Looks not too bad...

That'll be a hole then...

That'll be a previous bodge then, don't worry there's a new set of rear arches to go on!

I'll keep you all posted with developments!! :D

Hi Stuart,

good to see the old girl is finally getting the treatment from Joe. I'm very confident that Joe will have her looking spot on very soon as you only need to see other cars he has done and they are excellent! It was also good to see you at EK on Sunday!

that's the exact reason why the tc i had was broken cause it was just a patch up and a total mess.It will look good once finished.

the guy who had that tc originally after it was found was the same guy who had the one that we broke.

It was good to see you too. Sadly pressures of work have meant I've got no shows in so far (and that's also reason why it's better that Joe has the TC) but I was glad to escape to East Kilbride for an hour or two!!

It's always sad to see a TC go to the breakers Ray and I was determined this one wasn't going to be. I'm really pleased that Joe's getting in about it - I'm looking forward to seeing it as it should be. :D

well that's the paint made up for the tc today, ready to go when the body is ready. Wild Moss certainly is a dark green when you see it fresh in the tin.

Is there any updates to the TC yet? I was round at Joes last week and it was steaming ahead! This will be a nice car once Uncle Joe works his magic on it

I was across last Thursday and snapped this...it's the floor I almost killed myself with by putting a scissor jack through. The sill was almost on then too but I couldn't quite get in to take a picture so that'll follow soon!

True...I thereafter ensured that the trolly jack remained in the boot just in case.

Think that used up one of my nine lives!!!

As at Tuesday, 20th May, she looked like this:

Nearside Rear Arch on.

And smoothed over...note the new sill as well.

Off-side rear arch on too.

Off-side

Front view - note the new headlamp panels on too!!

The rate at which Joe's fitting all the panels on her is putting us all to shame!!!
