:? what would be the safest maximum towing weight (ie caravan ) that a 1300,1700 and 1800 saloon or coupe could tow without ripping the guts out of it.

for longer distances i use as a thumbrule for older cars between 60-80% of the weight on wehicle that i'm towing with. That said i've been towing approx 2.3T with a 1800, but thats uncomfertable even if it was just for a short journey.

8)basically i wondered if the 1800 special could pull a 900kg caravan at 17ft long.i have spring assisters fitted.

8) thanks for the towing advice and what would be best for the special. i will definitely need to have a rethink on caravan size. as for ado28 if you took his brains out he would be f..... as he is no beauty :lol: :lol: mind you he cant have everything. all i can say is watch your sheep. :lol: :lol:

8) yes i am thinking about a 4 berth. £500 and a very nice classic 1975 viking fibreline is yours. dont delay invest today.

I’m certainly no beauty Larry and as for brains I’m lacking in that department too these days.
