Hi Joseph.
Biggar is on this weekend but as a club we are not entering as it is pre75 only and some of our cars are not eligible so if we cant all get in then stuff them. A few other clubs are doing the same and taking registration numbers if there are any cars post 75 on show.
We are just going up in our own motors and paying to get in.

True Paul but there are two ways to look at it. Personally I wont mind paying to get in as it is a great autojumble. But on the other hand if there are post 75 in the showground then we will nail them to the wall and complain to the SVVF.

Ach, quite right, if they're gonna be that rigid and stuck up, they can stuff it! But that's a good idea, you see anything on show, old 'P' or newer, get them telt!! So, see you all (or some) at Chatelherault next Sunday.

I think it's as ridiculous as tax exemption. How can a 72 Marina be a classic and a 75 one not to be?
There's a local classic run from Ipswich to Felixstowe every year. Me and my dad were hoping to go on his Norton Commando but it's pre-75 only and his bike was made in '75. We wont be able to go in my Marina either as that's 75. It's absolutely ridiculous.

These people seem to forget that the collectors of post75 cars are the future of the classic car movement.

Very valid points Josh and Clansman. I think I will go on Sunday to hug a tree and be a rebel for the day. I will get these tossers telt. Ray, hows your banner making skills, fancy a protest at the gate?

Thats actually something I've often thought, both the General and my Marina are 'L' Registrations, but the General is a 1972 'Historic Vehicle' and tax exempt, but my car isn't simply because it's a 1973 L, they're both classic cars, the government are discriminating in an illogical manner, just like the show, for example I'd get in but Sean or Dougie wouldn't, we all drive Marinas but our cars are from opposite ends of the same decade. I think it would be fairer if they have to impose an age limit on entries, to make it 25 years and older are allowed to enter, but I can sort of see the logic, I'm fed up seeing 52 reg cars at these shows and called classic (Jaguar Club for example!!!). Nah, if they want to be like that, they can stick it where the sun don't shine! BTW if you see the aforementioned Jaguar club there and that 52 Reg S type there, don't bloody miss the organisers, get ripped right into them!!
