Handling problems and sills :o(

Hi everybody.
Since I got my Marina Coupe a few months back I've been meaning to change the 145/70 13 tyres on the back to match the 155/70 13 on the front.
Well the other night coming home from work in the Peeing rain I lost the backend coming out of a round about, normaly I can control this but this time I lost it big time, slid onto the grass and wrapped it round a lamp post.
Luckerly the glass didn't go but i did welt it big time on the drivers door and sill.
I've pushed out most of the dents on the drivers door but the sill is proppper bolloxed. My local garage can weld a new one forme but I was wondering if you guys new a good supplier of body panels or sills.

Hi Martin, you should be able to get a new sill from LMC Hadrian, or any pattern panel supplier to the body trade, if you have no luck then give me a shout as i have got plenty

Ahh the old combination of wet roads and Marina's! ! You may find adding a little bit of weight in the boot will help you grip the rear end, I find either a tool box or some heavy gauge steel plates placed in the rear boot squabs help! !

Apparently ..(and i got this from a traffic cop) in the 70's the police would place a bag of cement in the boot to keep the arse down !! Thats when cement bags were cement bags !! Not these girly sized one's that they sell nowadays !!

try lowering the back end by an inch and get some 165's minimum that should help

hope you measured the depth of tread when you lent them to him charge him per mm lost :twisted:

Thanks for the offer Uncle Frank.
The mighty Marina has got new Tyres now and grips a whole lot better.
Also the speedo seems to be reading more accuratly now, before it was reading 60mph when being clocked at 70mph by different mates cars.
And to local speed check sign doesn't go off when I'm doing UNDER 30mph.

I've got loads of stuuf in the boot, two tool boxes , golf clubs, golf shoes, bits and bobs and 3 Kenlow fans.
Anyone had experience of fitting electric fans?

, they are fun until you get the hang of them!

You could try fitting an anti roll bar from a mk2 on the front too that usually makes quite a difference, i think Brian Viney fitted an electric Fan to his TC, Chris (Marinacoupe) might be able to help on that one
