HELP!

I have just been going back through some old paperwork from when I used to live in Royston near Barnsley and come accross something very interesting (that was boring at the time...)

There was a chap who lived in Godfrey Street, Royston who had a Mumford Convertible hidden away in his back garden. Unfortunately I cannot remember the house number, however if you look on Google Earth you can clearly see two houses on the east side of the road with archways leeding to their back gardens which contain cars. I am sure it was the southern one of the two! The archway has a blue car and a white car outside and a transit or similar parked opposite.

If anybody fancies a mission and is bold enough to go and knock on his door there really could be gold waiting in the back garden! As far as I remember he was completely oblivious to its rarity but when I was there about 5 years ago he was not willing to sell.

Please please please will someone try! I dont want the car myself, but would love to see something done with it - now that I am a Marina Nut!!

Cool! I see the arch way which seems the only way to get the cars in the back garden!
Is this not to far away from Matt? Ponteland!!

But don't know the area that well

Can't tell what the cars are picture not good enough but bit clearer down in Worthing

 Yes quite a haul of them lately...they have an excellent survival rate when you think they only made about 35 of them! :)

35 ?? i always imagined that the total was closer to 75 ??
still an excellent survival rate, but not suprisingly as the best specs models of any make/models seems to be put aside while the basic models seem to be scrapped.

Yes , i always thought that they made about 70 or so Jan ivar, until Gary figured out from the registrations of all the survivors that there were never more than one registered a month!, and i recall years ago speaking to Mr Mumford in Plymouth, who at the time said that they used to knock out about one a month....well you figure it out..one a month for three years in my book means about 35/36 or so, give or take a few

yes that seems reasonable
i'll see if i can dig something out, but once a month on average seems more realistic than 2 each month

When you actually see the amount of work that goes into making a Mumford i honestly can`t see a small workshop like Mumfords making more than one a month, and at the price they were at the time, i`d be surprised that they had orders for more than that amount anyway.
Gary actually worked out from all the registrations of all the cars we know existed that there was only ever one registered per month during the three years that the car was produced, give or take perhaps one or two overlaps, so even if they had a particularly good month, there is little chance that more than 36 existed, i personally reckon about 20 survive including the odd few we don`t know about.
