how easy would it be to fit a set into a mk3 saloon I know genuine sets are hard to find but I was wondering if rear seat belts from an older bl car i.e montego or metro might fit , I guess the mounting points would have to be strengthened I remember seeing a set recently that said they mount to the rear parcel shelf but would that be strong enough any ideas ??

i've mounted rear seat belts in mk2's a couple of times. never strengthened the original mountings. but then again never chrashed the cars either... - but i guess they would be strong enough as is.

what seatbelts did you use ? I presume then having not looked that the mounts are there somewhere where does the reel itself mount to ??

i used three lap belts - the middle bolts secured both the middle lap and one of each side - - belt . Worked ok . So i didnt use reel belts.

but i have seen reel belt installed. the reel was on top of the parcel shelf.
