we were at one of the better shows up here today but not without problems. when sending away the entry form we were informed that there would be no car allowed to enter the field be it a private entry or with a car club registered after 1975,hence only 3 cars were able to attend instead of the proposed 12. On arrival there was over 20 cars after the cut off date and when mentioned to organisers we were told what do you want us to do about it! anyone else had any situations like this???

Biggar was a disappointment. I have attended this show for years and this was the first show I have missed because the classic I wished to take was not pre 1975. Club Ecosse has already sent a letter of complaint in to the organisers but I doubt that this will do any good.
What these stuck up organisers fail to realise that if it wasn’t for people like us showing classic cars then there would be no show but it just goes to show you that if you give someone a yellow vest and a cheap walkie talkie from Argos then they think that they are the Dugs Baws!
Next year I may decide to take my double decker bus and conveniently break down right at the gate and stop everything from entering, now that would be a laugh providing there is no classic tow trucks!

I can understand not letting in cars maybe 10 or 15 years old, but 32?
I'd personally vote with my feet and not bother going because to be honest it sounds like the show was being run by a bunch of desperate people trying to hold back the inevitable tide.

The best thing to do with events like that is to boycott them, there was a couple of events on the island that tried this a few years ago, after a couple of shows without exhibits they soon folded, now they can`t do enough for us!!, the only thing is, all the clubs need to talk to each other to help make this happen...especially those with cars built after 1973

Im sure after shows like life on mars bringing 70s cars back to the fore ,theyre not going to have a lot of choice !! 8)

further to the original post i received a call to tell me that they must have lied on their entry forms by booking in other cars and then turning up in the later. This was soon shot down after i asked them if that was the case then why were they publiished in the event programme? no answer again but was told that they would be banned from next years event, although can't see that happening as this was a one off as it was holding champion of champions, 5 champion cars only turned up.

Try and talk to a few other clubs Ray, and just boycott the bast**ds, they will soon get the message when they run out of exhibits
