Out of interest, was there anything else that the marina's clutch was shared with? I think my bearing has gone as its grinding like crazy when I press the clutch, and it looks like a nightmare of a job to just change the bearing. Are full clutch's quite easy to get hold of for them, and if not, is it as difficult as it looks to change the bearing?

Can still get them from factors, but watch the price! is your 1.3 or 1.8?

Sorry, just seen thats its a 1.3 :roll: , i've got a new spare bearing and 1.3 plate if you are stuck..

Yeah mine's the 1.3.

Ah a new bearing would be handy, are they tricky to do? I have some new engine mounts I need to fit before an MOT anyway so the engine will need to come up to fit those. Is it usually best to drop the gearbox, or lift the engine to change the bearing?

Its not to bad a job on a 1.3, i personaly would remove the box from under.. Can sometimes be a strugle getting it back up in line though.. If you can get the car high enough you can drop the whole power unit down and pull it out from the front..

the clutch is not a bad job on a 1.3, i would drop the box from below,just need some ramps. when you pull it off the engine you have to rotate it to one side so the top of the bellhousing clears the steering rack and assemble the clutch slave first before refitting it.
the engine does not have to come out or have anything disconected to do the mounts you just need to use a trolley jack with a block of wood to spread the weight on the sump and to support the engine whilst changing the mounts, oh its easyier to do one at a time for lining the engine up with the new mounts
