Good question,
The number of surviving MK3 is not too great, just under 60,000 of them were produced in it's two year production run (1978-1980) and if we are to believe "The Rarest Car in Britain "story carried by Auto Express,if this is correct, the total number of both Marina's and Ital's at that time were quoted as being 745 on the road (this is without non listed vehicles) but i would hazard a guess to MK3's surviving at less than maybe a tenth of that combined total number, that's less than 74 cars, and perhaps a lot less than that (i seem to think more MK1 T.C's survive than all models of the MK3 combined!)

At the risk of going over old ground again my love for the MK3 is well known, but sadly the MK3 lacks the popularity and therefore the desirability of the earlier cars, but they do fair a lot better then the Ital,in the willing to repair stakes, but both cars so often sadly succumb to being parts donors for MK1/2's,a great shame.

I had a W reg marina
KOH 30W factory numbered registration
it was a bit unusual it had the follwing

Princess side reapeaters on the front wings
sun visors the wrong way round
wipers fitted the wrong way round and motor on the wrong side of the inner wing
Ital inner wings
rubber matting on the L/H side of the carpet

I think this car would have been an export car that never made it and possibly put back to R/H drive to be sold here again.
Best regards
