I don't know, maybe you lot still use your Marinas as daily drivers? My Marinas are strictly for fun

and some newer equipment cn take care of the daily chores. Snapped a picture in my dad's garage the other day:

The yellow TC is starnded with a broken exhaust, the green 1,3 is awaiting fitment of the new steering rack bush and the Rover (my winter car) needs new rear springs. Other cars in the fleet are a 1990 Citroën XM and a 1986 Honda Civic.

My every day car is a Mazda Premacy 1800 Sport, and I am also restoring a Pilgrim Bulldog marina based kit car. It was the very first one to be built by Glengowan motors of Arbroath in 1986. 8)

Our family car is a 2008 Honda Jazz. Does the school run, and has just enough room and grunt to handle the our small family's needs (me and the wife and 9-year-old son). Covered 20,000km in it's first year, including a summer Christmas vacation trip from Auckland to Dunedin (3,000km in 3 weeks). Didn't need KneadIt. :P Uses 1/3 less fuel than the Mazda6 wagon it replaced, but isn't as much fun to drive (in fact it's no fun at all, but I don't drive it much

).
My daily driver is a 1992 Toyota Corolla. The base model 1300 5-speed, with no electrics or AC. Fortunately, Toyota NZ enlisted the aid of legendary Ferrari Formula 1 driver Chris Amon to do the suspension development for our market, so the handling is fantastic, and the ride is excellent

(way better than the Jazz  or our previous Mazda 6

). Really demonstrates how good bread-and-butter cars can be

, if done right (like current Fords). Pity the engine is pathetically feeble, but that might have something to do with the 288,000km. It has rust around the screens, so it's days are numbered. When it finally fails it's WOF/MOT, then a Marina will take it's place.

I've got 4 years and 60,000km out of it, so not bad value for $2,000 (700GBP).

What a clean spacious (heated?) garage your father has - no weather need stop you from working on your cars...........
I have just bought a 1999 Toyota Hiace to takeover from my current daily driver, a 1984 VW LT28

My brother's Hiace only lasted a year

- cracked a diesel head after 300,000km.

I owned a 1987 Hiace from 1997-2001 taking it upto 350,000km - the engine never gave a second of worry aside from needing the water pump and of course the routine timing belt, oil & filters replaced.Biggest problems were with all of the door locks and hinges except the driver´s door - all my passengers smashed them by slamming them too hard.It went for export to an arab country. I then owned a 1994 Hiace from 2002 until it was stolen in January 2008 - also a superb car that never gave any trouble aside from the water pump failing as it went from 199,000 upto 320,000 with me , also likely exported according to the police.
I am looking forward to many years of reliable service from my new acquisition.......

I've only got the Marina but do bikes count?
My BSA Bantam, my first classic vehicle which hopefully I can ride next year
and my Norman Super Lido moped

The Norman has been a pain in the arse, it has broken down virtually every week! So far it's had new mag set, flywheel, cables, carb float & needle, big end bearing and plenty more I've forgotten!

I run 3 Peugeots, 406 Hdi, 306 Hdi and a 306 1.9 Td. All cars are very reliable and return superb MPG. All 3 are cheap on insurance and the 406 is the cheapest to Tax at only £120 per year.
My Toys are:
Reynard (Marina Saloon - Thinking of selling it now)
Marina Pick Up - Under restoration
10cwt Austin Marina Van - In need of restoration.

My daily driver is an Alfa 155 V6 with a few choice mods.

Toys are an Alfa 155 Q4 which has the 4WD system from a Lancia Dedra Integrale and was rescued as a Cat C write-off and I rebuilt with a few mods (See a pattern here..

) , an Alfa 155 2.0TS currently in bits in the garage getting a fair bit of welding done and the Marina which was my first car and I have had it for 25 years. Family bus is a Seat Alambraha Tdi thingy and my daughter runs a phase 1 megane coupe which I look after too. (And it takes a LOT of looking after I can tell you..

)
These are the two alfas that can move under their own steam..

Haha, those panels are a pain in the a*se to be honest, the Super Lido is a very rare bike (only about 4 left of the early ones, which mine is one of). Later on they got rid of the front panel and redesigned the other two. I usually leave them off as I get fed up of taking them on and off when it breaks!
