SRV.......

I've just been over on the MacDroitwich.com forum (don't go there if you are easily offended, its a BL forum with no moderation and things get......slightly boisterous.....) and one of the posters claims to have seen the Marina SRV2 being wheeled into a shipping container (22 Aug). Anyone care to have a go at Gaydon and find out WTF is going on?

About 3 months ago I was speaking to one of the curators at Gaydon and they told me that it was still in the collection and was "Out on Loan"...

Sorry guys but I'm with Al, what is the SRV2? I'm guessing it's one of the prototypes BL developed with pedestrian safety as the driving force. I have seen the minis that they did but not a marina.

Is it rather ugly... the SSV1 is pretty bad as well with the weird roof mounted mirror but I think the V2 takes it for bizarre bumper.
However it would be a massive shame if it was being shipped off somewhere

Last time I saw it there were no brakes fitted and a forklift had gouged a lump out of the nosecone...(muppets....)

Thanks for that.
Just goes to show, it doesn't matter how many hour's I spend on that site, there is always something to miss!
Would be a real shame to see a vehicle that is part of our heritage go abroad.
Doesn't Ford own Gaydon now? If so that would explain everything.
Mental note, must go back to Gaydon soon before it is filled with Sierra's!

Apparently the Triplex Princess has been seen out in the open in a dodgy state. I've got many reservations about Ford in control of history of a major rival from the past, put frankly they don't seem to be looking after many of the exhibits in a sympathetic way. Gaydon is a special place, but it can only be special if it has special items to exhibit.
The last time I saw the SRV2 must have been around ten years ago, it was in an 'original' state, but it did seem to have a little battle damage....
