I tried that for my Granddads old LE Coupe. Got talking to a nice lady over at the DVLA but there is nothing they can do. My situation is slightly different in that the car probs don't exist anymore in a physical form but it has not been end of life’d so the registration is technically still transferable...
What you could do is contact the membership secretary of the MMOC and see if she has it on the books? Failing that get a message in the club mag or even practical classics..?
