Mileage could be genuine. According to carjam, average of 3100km per year from 1995 to 2003. If it had only done 46,000km in 1995, that would give an average of 2900km per year from 1979 to 1995
. Or it could have been 146,000km, if it had averaged 9,000 km per year up to 1995 
.
