I went into work last night, mentioned to one of my workmates I had bought a marina ,he fondly remembered he'd had a 4dr 1300 then word passed to another lad,he had a couple of them back then.Later another commented she'd had a marina, all good words for these great cars.
In our early years of being together me and my then girlfriend (now wife),first we had a rough looking white four door 1300 it had a black vynyl roof and sported a full webasto, brilliant. We went all around the country in it down to Somerset and up to Scotland. A bit later we had quite a smart four door brown with a tan vynyl roof that had the 1700 engine was very straight. I will have to have a look in all the old photo's and see if I can find a few,get them scanned in and we could maybe start a thread with all the old photo's?
Those cars took us all over the place and never missed a beat, gave us lots of happy memories
In my book that counts for a lot.

I'll have a word with Ben as I want to add an image lounge for this type of stuff. We will probably have to use sites such as Photobucket to host the pics as the site storage is full but Photobucket accounts are free so no big issue other than registering. I have loads of old Marina & Itals photos from the 80's through to the early 90's when I stopped driving them as daily drivers so I'll have to get my scanner out as most are 35mm photos. Just as a starter for 10, here's one taken by a mate of mine of some of the fleet we had... :(

The green Mk2 coupe here was mine and although it was low mileage (38K), it was as rotten as a pear. I bought a full set of panels for it to restore it but finally decided it just was too far gone as the drivers side a-post was missing inside & out along with sills, wings, doors etc. I broke it for spares and only recently sold the interior to Mick having stored it for around 12 years... The blue Mk1 Coupe was my mate's which started off as a nice standard 1275cc coupe but ended up firstly with a tuned 1275, then finally with a 2.0 o-series, 1.7 gearbox, 1.8 axle, uprated rear springs, TR7 steels etc. Brilliant wee car. The blue Mk3 saloon was mine which I had bought with a stoved in drivers side rear quarter and bought a new quarter & fitted it. Converted it from auto to manual and built a new engine for it. Did lots of miles in it. The orange 4 door Mk1 was a short lived car for my mate but it went like stink. Truely dangerous handling though mostly due to worn out suspension and serious structural rust in lots of places.... Surprise surprise.

Great stuff number 63 It's good to hear the histories it makes good reading, rotten as a pear! that's the joy of living in Britain he he.
That mk2 coupe I just bought is pleasantly solid it is said to have been zeibarted from new,it makes a difference doesn't it.When I get the car up and running I will give it a good dose of waxoyl or something like.
I have just opened a photobucket account it was straight forward.
now where is that old biscuit tin with the photo's in ?
