Think that was the one on ebay a couple of months ago. I did see a post somewhere of the chap that bought it introducing himself on here. I cant find a pic of the car to check the reg ( ebay listing too old ) but it looks familiar.
Just checked-look under 'Newbies'-from ( guess what ) Lincoln!!!

Guys name is Scoot.

Yep....I'm the guilty owner !! Picked the car up from a couple of "retro car" enthusiasts in Derby through the ebay ad. The two guys had picked up the car at Newark Autojumble (orig price unknown) They weren't into Marinas, just enjoyed the building/resto of anything interesting. Their "love" was Avengers & MKII Escorts. The '74 1300 Coupe has had a full shell re-paint/respray, the interior isn't pretty (brown vinyl....anyone out there with good usable seating ?) The car has a "Slide-away of Birmingham" roll back sunroof, TC wheels & incorrect grille (but orig supplied which I plan to re-paint), the Coupe badge has been mounted in the centre of the rear panel as the car was fitted with a NOS bootlid & they didn't want to drill the new panel to fit the orig set of badges !! The car is essentially lined up as my son's first car, but I'm kinda worried it's too nice for him to use as a learner......and I kinda like it too much !!
It was a bit over budget, but it is a nice car & ticked everyone's box rather than the early Allegro which we initially went to see which was a horror !!
I've got a whole bunch of resto/completion pics (someone advise on a technophobic guide to pic posting !). If anyone is interested the guys I bought from are going to be putting a '72 1300 Coupe up on ebay soon, they've traced the V5 from DVLA & it's still Mot'd.....BUT it has heavy rear end R/H side damage & some grim customisation mods !!....BLMC/Lucas rear lights anyone ?? Tasteful !!

As far as I am aware the forum has run out of room for pictures to be directly posted!
This has come up countless times and if the space on the forum is not to be sorted, then I think we need instructions posted so new people who don't know can post pictures!!
I also did not know when I joined how to post pictures until I was given a lesson.
Can we put some info on a sticky somewhere to help others?
So the only way I know of getting pictures up on here is to open a Photobucket account (photobucket.com) which is free and load them on to there.
Then you can copy the link across in a post on here.
It is easy to use, just press the upload picture button on photobucket.com and hunt for where your picture is stored on your PC.
Once it is uploaded you can copy the IMG code by clicking on it and then paste that in to your thread / text.
you have 4 options when coping the link -
HTML Code - no idea apart from it is different to IMG code! :?
Direct link - links straight to your photobucket account and the image you have selected
Email - I guess emails it to who ever you want!
IMG code - I use this as it works!
Good luck and get them pictures up here
Paul.

That's what I've been doing.

The IMG code displays a thumbnail of the pic in your message, and clicking on the thumbnail takes the reader to Photobucket to view the fullsize image.

Hi
I have some pictures of that marina 72 coupe before it had a rear end shunt that your guys you mentioned from derby are restoring.
i spotted this car at newark autojumble with its badly damaged rear end and remembered that i had seen this car before earlier in the year whilist on holiday in sunny great yarmouth and had took some pictures.

As you can see all the front and rear lights had been messed about and the front and rear panels were messed about with to fit these and the fitting of mini/landrover lights to the rear no wonder somebody ran in to it.
When i saw it a newark the wolfrace wheels had disappeared off it.
this car was an early car having front drums, not disks on the front so it also had the early suspension legs.
They was a racing steering wheel fitted and flashy racing seats a large bore rear exhaust and bonnet pins.
It also had a respray with lots of overspray all over the door and screen rubbers.
Best regards
Barry

Thanks to Mojo for shifting the pic from Flickr onto the forum....cheers Bud.
Baz.....you are correct, that is the other Coupe that is based in Derby. They're not intending on restoring it, it's going on ebay v.soon. It has a current V5 & MOT...no idea on price though.....just keep your peepers open !!

Aaahhhh, I wondered what happened to that as the guy left a note on my Ital estate and we had a long chat a while ago what wheels etc he could fit. Last time I saw it it was matt black with 17" alloys on it. Glad to see its being restored!

Having personally seen the car in the flesh, when I purchased the restored coupe from them, it certainly ain't pretty !! It's been stored outside on a muddy patch all through the bad weather (with the boot open) & the boot floor looked a bit crumpled to me.....so where else has sustained the accident damage ?? I think the asking price is somewhat on the high side......how much would it cost to restore ?? & then subsequently be worth....Ummm will keep a watch on it for curiousity !!

Hasn't touched boot floor...? I'd take that with a pinch of salt, especially looking at that whacking great crease in the NSR quarter.
Pity though cos it does look prety sound.
