Hi,

Would someone be kind enough to explain a few things from the forum.

Looking at say the 'Morris Marina Forum', the small graphic at the start of each item is either

black, I assume it means nothing new in it,

Red, some new comment,

Some have a red star???

Some have the text scrolling up????

Also at the bottom of the page it says who is signed in with their user names, I have seen 'Google[Bot]' plus one other that can't be clicked on to see who they are, are these people who have gained access without loging on???

Don't know about the icons, but the XXXBots are search engines, that visit and catalogue the items in the forum, so that if you were to search on say Google for "trunnions" it would know where to look. Search Bots are cataloguing the whole of the internet so that when you use the search engine it brings back fast results.

To give you some idea, I Googled "Martec Marina" and the fourth and fifth items relate to you. The fourth is your Flickr account and the fifth is this forum string.

chris is spot on with the google bot being search engines. THe black icon is nno new posts and the red is new comment. i haven't seen the star or scrolling text though.

If you see a red star it means you've posted on that topic..........I think.........
