Hey Crash, what size engine you got in, I'm on the lookout for an electric fan conversion for my 1800 and I never thought of a KA, I read somewhere that an old Polo one would fit cos its quite thin but can't find one, thanks

yer i fitted it on the front but had to cut some of the front up to make it fit and i have a bit more room cos i dont have a cach for the bonnet but if you laye it back a bit it migth fit but the other thing the ka one should be on the back of the rad i put it on the front so had to run it backwards so not shaw how long the motor will hold up

I have just taken the electric fan and radiator blind off my 1800 estate and fitted fan blades. I dont see what use an electric fan is to a marina.

My 1800 is a mk1 auto with a dynamo and i've heard that in town driving the engine temp can go up quite a bit and when stopped at lights etc the engine and therefore the fan isn't turning fast enough to cool the engine so that is the reasoning behind fitting an electric fan :)

the air flow over the rad is just not fast when the car is side ways at high reves the exra fan means the air can be foced over the rad even at tick over remember we are running at 4k plus with the car just going round a marker pole

It should be worth about 3mpg at motorway speeds, a bit less around town. Faster warmup for the heater in winter. A bit quieter too. Based on fitting one to a Vauxhall Chevette years ago.
