Have to say this.

Some IDIOT on ebay is selling a rather attractive 1980 Marina 1.3 auto on ebay.
Only 42k on it and claims to be a minter.

But the IDIOT intends to let you come and look at the car, drive it,then sell it to you sans engine and transmission, coz he wants THEM
for his Minor Traveller.
2 issues

1-WHY
2-Are there not enough auto boxes and A series engines floating around to make it unessecery to butcher the Marina.

IDIOT!!

Unfortunately only the 1.3 Marina and 1.3 Ital ever had an inline auto box fitted. The guy is a plonker - what a waste.

Isn't there an autobox for sale on here? It may save this marina??

It would seem that this guy has been bombarded with complaints and has therefore had a change of heart about breaking this Marina. I can see why he wanted to do it and, to an extent feel a little sorry for him. He has lost a leg and wants to continue driving his Morris Minor. Each to their own but it would be great if we could somehow help him to achieve his goal even if it is a Minor. Anyone got an auto box lying around that's not being used?

I agree. Glad it's not being broken though. I am sure there was one on here recently.

I too contacted him and he is not averse to selling it complete.
If my VW was running,I,d be up there in a shot.
I think there is an engine and box in the classifieds right here.
He,ll only need a pedal box then.
The pictures are,nt the best but it does look a good un.
I,d like a 1.7 in that finish.
1.3 auto might be a bit slow but well worth a look I think.

I have contacted this guy through ebay and offered him my 38.000 mile engine and auto box , he is keen to keep his classic motoring going but his health may yet stop him, so i will hold the offer open to him and hopefully his good deed of not scrapping this car will be made up for by my offer of the free engine for his moggy, good luck to him
