I have purchased a 1973 Mk1 Marina 1.3 coupe in North Yorkshire. White colour reg. no. VWW 933L. The car is not known to the Marina Ital owners club. I am trying to establish it's history. The car is restored and in "show" condition. Does anyone remember this car?

Sorry cannot help with it's history but saw sale advert for this vehicle in December 2009, 34k miles, £3295, which is a lot of cash for a Marina.

The car was owned by a club member back in 2008, the owner was from the Wakefield area.

Thanks for the information on my Marina Coupe. Mr.Walsingham of the Marina Owners Club has been most helpful. I now know that a Mr. Paul Cadman of Doncaster owned the car in or around 2003 and he purchased an extensive stock of spares which I aquired from Classix of Rotherham. I have written to him hoping for a reply with some details. I have been busy with the car and stripped out the interior. Other than one small hole in the drivers side footwell, the floor is in good condition. The navy colour carpet was a bit ********** to say the least and frayed at the edges, but it is now cleaned refitted and dyed navy. Two other minor spots of rot were noted inside at the bottom of the front right wing and at the rear right wing underside. My "technician" will properly seal the windscreen and back window surrounds as I noted that the windscreen area leaks slightly ( hence the now repaired hole in the footwell) I have replaced the external badges other that the 1.3 super badges which I dont have. The leyland badges which are affixed to the side of the front wings were missing, and I located them in Beaulieu. When the front wings were replaced, the chrome surrounding strips were not fixed back and I dont have them either! Anyway, I am enjoying the project so far. As a matter of interest I am located in the North East part of Southern Ireland.
