PRACTICAL CLASSICS NEED A SALOON!

Had a call today from the guys at PC, they are running a feature on 70`s repmobiles and need someone with a mk1 (1973/4) 1300 super saloon in nice condition for a photoshoot, you would probably need to be in reach of Peterborough or thereabouts, an 1800 Saloon would probably do but i think a 1300 would suit their needs better.
He actually asked if possible the colour could be Sandglow, but then it would have to be a mk2....so i suggested a Harvest gold one might have to do instead  .
To be honest i think they would be happy as long as whoever goes along has a tidy looking saloon which is fit for purpose 8)
If you or anyone you know is interested let me know by pm and i will put you in touch.
Frank.

Come on guys, there must be someone out there who wants their car featured in a national classic car mag?

I would have thought a 70's sales rep. would have used a 1.8 rather than a 1.3 for motorway work.

I took my TC for a photo shoot last year, it's a fun and interesting day out. I would certainly do it again.
Go for it guys!!!!!!!

Don't suppose my car is any use, Frank? Probably wrong colour and body style? (And trim level ).

I had an email last night, saying that they are not doing it in Swindon now, they are doing it in Royston. They told me last week I needed to book the day off this coming Wednesday. Which I did. The email I recieved yesterday says they have changed their mind about Wednesday after I have booked it off work. They haven't told me which day it is yet, I have asked though so I honestly don't know! Bit miffed I have taken the day off for nothing but hopefully I can use it to get the Marina going properly if I can't cancel the day off. As soon as I find out what is going on, which I guess will be Monday I'll let you know, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a backup Marina. If they postpone it for a fortnight for example, then no problem!

The two stroke Marina made it there and back. A round trip of eight hours.
I took a few photos if you are interested.

The journey was very tiring having to drive ensuring the engine smoked the least. The traffic was really bad too. I got there first at about 9.15. Shortly after the bloke in the Vauxhall Victor arrived. The the photographer and a while later the head writer arrived trailering the Avenger and the editor driving the Cortina. We unloaded the Avenger and drove off to a concrete factory from the 70's. We were there for about 4 - 5 hours posing the cars in different positions, the two people from the magazine had bought some props, a 70's type hawaian shirt to hang in the back and a briefcase etc, a few other bits and they dressed up themselves. it was quite funny watching them posing at each other and posing around the cars. After that we went back to a VERY 1970's looking Little Chef for more pics and breakfast. After that, we did some moving shots with the cameraman in the boot of the LandRover! I had a great day out, thanks for the oppurtunity Frank, they are going to send all the pics to me on CD so if you would like a copy of the CD let me know. :D
The only thing that would have made the day better would be if the Marina wasn't marking its territory everywhere it went!
