Hi, has anybody got a side profile picture of a MK1 1.3 in Harvest Gold with the factory painted brown pinstripe please?

Hi Philip,

I believe the only mk1's to have a factory painted pinstripe were the early TC Coupes, like mine, and the slightly later TC saloons and coupes, with the vynil roofs, like Balmy's blaze Coupe, from Devon.

If you mean your saloons, the pinstripes would not have been factory applied, but applied by a previous owner at some point.

I'm sure someone on this forum will correct me if i'm wrong!

I am eagerly awaiting delivery of this months Practical Classics magazine to see your car in all it's glory. Should arrive to me today, on general sale on Wednesday 3rd November!

Regards, Dave B.

Got my Practical Classics in the post this morning, there she is in all her glory.

I think that only the SDL Mk1s had the double stick on stripes along the waist line and DLs didn't, I believe that later models models had them with the thinner or thicker one above the other, but I don't know which way round.

Most of the cars these days have lost their stripes when the owners did some bodywork. Uncle Frank is your man to advise which cars had stripes and which didn't.

The only picture I can find is this one below, I have lots of pics of Mk1s without stripes - hope it helps.

Jubilee has the strip up the opposite way to most TC's I think!
Thicker stripe upper most!
Plus it is in a different place above the side crease line.
I think it maybe the only model that did it that way :?:

As Dave said the stripes were only fitted as standard on TC`s , but they were available as a dealer option in the same colours as the TC...Sorrel , Geranium, Damson and Limeflower (painted) or optional vinyl in Gold, Bronze or Black.
I have seen only 2 cars with painted stripes and they are long gone now :( but i can remeber exactly how they were painted on...around the midriff through the badges on the front wings and around the bootlid and about 3mm thick just a single line as on the Coupe TC`s ....however the Coupe`s had them above the door handles running up the rear quarter at the back

as said i don't think all mk1 tc's had striping, I've never seen one over here with stripes. We didn't get the marina here before 1972, so there might have been striping on the very early ones. The pic is my early 72 TC with its original paint - no striping.
