Of suppliers and the like..

Doesn't take a lot to please me.
Today I purchased over-the-counter no less than 5 float chamber seals for the SU HiF6 - as fitted to all O series engines.
And this in Christchurch NZ.
Yay.
I have dealt in the past with 'Swift Automotive' - they cater mostly for Mini owners, but a visit to their showroom is like being 8yrs old and let loose in the lolly shop.!

However - besides waxing lyrical, there is some info here that I wanted to pass on.
Larry Mulholland - the driving force behind Swift, informed me that Burlen Fuels were trying to look as though they had the monopoly on bits SU.
No so it seems.
Swift are the NZ agents for SU, and there are only a handful in the world.
Burlen approach him when they are purchasing bulk amounts - as often the minimum amount to qualify a production run is in the thousands - and these orders are shared with all the dealers world wide.
So.
It seems I have the good fortune to have a 100% capable SU agent within the greater city limits.
Choice.!
No more prolonged cranking while the fuel pump replenishes what leaked out of the SU overnight for me.!
I have tried using O rings, but they do not seal properly compared to the original square section seal.

What simple pleasures.!

Happy Marinas chaps.
.. and chaplettes..

I knew Larry when I was racing Minis, and he had a BMC tuning business. He'd also built a Formula Ford and won the national championship (in 81/82 with Jeff Pascoe driving iirc).

He was instrumental in bringing Mini7 racing to the South Island.
