hi guys new to furum. just been googling marina stuff come across this site & read that some of you fellas would like to drive a v8 marina. i thouht ishould tell yas that ive built a 3.5 rover equiped marina coupe thats fully engineered and registed & is unbloodybelievable to drive on the road a real head turner. ive called it a gtm made neat badges and all (no idea why just sounded right to me). but i did every inch of the work myself except for getting an axle shortened and splined, i have 3m x3m garden shed as a workshop so there are some things that just cant be done at home. so if you want one talk to the roads guys find if its leagal to do where you live and build. i have heaps of pic through the build and am happy to tell you what i did.

I do like that, would love some pictures showing how you routed your exhaust and what headers you used.

That's a really neat job, V8 fits a treat doesn't it. Crikey you've started something here I reckon. I'd love to see it with some 70s slot mags on, not that I'm criticizing what you've already got on there, it just reminds me of the custom car shows I used to go to at Doncaster Race Course Exhibition Centre years ago - especially with the huge bonnet bulge. I'd go with Carle, look like Aussie Fairlane tail-lights. Wipers on the "correct" side for an Aussie Marina, too. :P

5 stud wheels suggest narrowed Falcon diff, same as "NotTheMarinaMan" has done for his V8. 8)

thanks for the good coments. and ive got to say you fellas no your stuff. ok im no kiwi im australian, yes they are zf fairlane tailights the back of the car was stuffed so i figured while fixing rust ill make it uniqe, the diff is borg warner78 same as a ford but this one is from a vl commodore there offset around 40mm so only had shorten one side, heaps cheaper & easier but still way to wide hence the 3 piece 16" simmons to get right track this also made it a bolt on fit for commodore rear discs, the headers i made out of $300 of mandrel bends & my trusty mig welder they are so restrictive but they fit that all that matters, the wiper system is from a 80s mitsubishi colt but ive changed the throw for a better wipe. other major problems i had was radiator i had to notch the chassis rails & the inner guards for clearance even then i had to pull the bodywork forward below the bumper 30mm for clearance wasnt hard just didnt want to. coolings a big issue has one 16" thermo pushing & one 10" pulling but runs hot around town also runs a davies craig electric water pump & controller had to no room for standard pump ( ive found commodore v6 front cover should fit and will allow for bigger radiator but has no dizzy so long term plan), ive used a falcon borg warner t5 same clutch plate spline as rover but big gearbox had to split the tunnel fo clearance, the scoop & rear wing is out of a lh torana cut to fit and ive also done a custom interior useing a crappy magna dash and some alloy. ill put a couple more picks of random stuff but ill have to take some of exhaust clearance give me a bit of time i work all the time you know how it goes. also trying to find some ital front door windows they would really clean up the side profile they wernt sold in oz so any idea how much they cost & how much they wiegh thanks again
