Hi i don't know if this has been on here before?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBokyZ0wOmc

A 10 Min news clip on the closure of the British Leyland speke plant in liverpool.
Several marina's and marina vans in the clips.
Nice to see the slagging of between managment and workers and parts supply, and also the presenter driving and slagging the TR7 off. :x :|
Around 3.23 into the clip as the presenter is slagging of the tr7 4 speed box(basically a marina box)if you look closely the signage of the no2 speke factory sign the F has fallen off saying acotry.
Wasn't just the cars that were falling apart by the looks of it. :!:
I didn't think the tr7 was a bad car selling the most out of the TR range, but in 1978 Leyland looked to be in a lot of trouble with more japanese imports as this is mentioned in the clip.
Hope you enjoy this period clip.
Best regards
Barry

Its now an 'ASDA'.
I spent a fair bit of my youth and younger working life around this area.
The decline was disastrous......
The only thing remaining are a few new roads named after Triumphs.
For those who dont understand is was bad then....and then we got Thatcher.
The whole city virtually closed down.

Some fab footage there Barry. Shame about the TR7 as I reckon it still looks good today. It certainly hasn't dated too badly has it, I don't think Harris Mann got enough credit for his innovative designs.
