I think it was all going on on another island, a bunch of lads running around a field.
it was a good game though.

Yes - we watched the shenanigans last night.
The mower had been safely retired by then.
All Marinas are again safely parked in dispersals.
God save the King.

Ooh reminds me of the Austin Rover car park in the late 70's early 80's

Just curious, I know the Mk 3 lost the Marina name in NZ, and was simply called the "1700", but were they all badged "1700 MK II", or was there also a "1700 MK I"?

To answer my own question, I see from the pics on Kilroy's website that "Sue's Taxi" is simply badged "1700". Wonder what changed for the MK II?

Only thing I can think of is the badge.
Apart from that - it had cloth seats and a vinyl top. Sort of 'HL' trim.
The choc-bomb is a 1981 model - Sue's is 1980.

I found the first registered dates for your fleet
here
BBK865 aka JR3473 8/7/80 (badged "1700")
JN5773 24/2/81
JN5871 17/3/81
KE1484 aka KE5322 24/7/81 (badged "HL Marina" but registered as "1700")
KB4866 29/7/81 (badged "1700 MKII")
My "trainspotter" gene says the badge on the early 81 red wagon (Pearl's wagon?) and white saloon (scrapped?) would help pinpoint the changeover date.
Looks like cloth trim was the only change for a MK II.
The earliest rego date I have recorded for a 1700 is 13/6/79, and it appears to be the only 1700 with no rear seat belts (required from 1/11/1979).

My boy.
I'm thinking you have a little too much time on your hands...

Half a dozen Marinas would fix that!
