8) i feel the forum is underused. there are a regular 35 who are on the forum constantly and 60 odd all in.its great for a whole range of topics from the technical aspect to the ridiculous(which i am guilty of ) and this is good. but could there be many more out there who could use it and contribute more to the general discussion and maybe throw fresh ideas around. there are only 3 from up here use the forum on a regular basis. or is it like membership in general there are a hard core who are interested and the rest tag along.

hmm it's a tough one, forums tend to have the "die hard" members and then a high turnover of people who probably were after a specific thing and came on just for that, got the answer and left. If they are not a fan of inane mindless banter then they probably don't have many reasons to stay

I can't really see a way of getting a significantly higher percentage of members on here, and then retaining them.

That`s a tough one Larry, i think people tend to use the forum as and when it suits them, usually when they are bored or are looking for something in particular, you will always get the die hards, who will always participate in everything as you do with the clubs, as far as i can see that is probably how it will always be, you can lead a horse to water.......... :)

For my four penneth - let's say that there are 600 owners of cars on the road (it's a guess) if we have 60 contributors, that means we have 10% online and interested in Marinas.

I think that that's probably all that we can expect. It's a smallish pond.

I like this forum, it's about right. Yes there are not vast numbers of people coming on here and posting topics, but the previous post is right, there are not many cars left, those which are are owned by people with more than one, so I'd say out of 600 cars, there are perhaps only 400 owners.... :D
Mind you I think Ben used to have around 1/10th of the entire Marina breed in his garage at one point.

Well does anybody have any good ideas to promote the MARINA/ITAL so we can get more members interested. The more we use the cars the more interest we get for them

8) hence the cowley plan....up until then i dont know. mind you look at the turnout of marinas at our events this year. we certainly made the public and other clubs aware of our existence. as for the forum 10 % isnt too bad i suppose.

Yeah we don;t have 900 cars on the roads let along 29,000!!

If we had let all the spambots stay we would ave had over 600 members
