Waking up.

Hello you lot.
Just wanted to share some good stuff..
Today I got a Marina out of retirement. I had made a few repairs to it over the last few years, but it has been sitting around for far too long, and I had begun to worry that it would deteriorate unless I used it some. There was no drama in starting it up, and the old fuel in it still managed to burn enough to propel it in a useful direction. Mostly to the nearest petrol station so I could pump the tyres up. After that we drove it over to Lyttelton via the quake damaged roads, and I was really pleased with how it handled all the uneven surfaces. I think I replaced all the shock absorbers about 5 years ago, and it has hardly done any miles since. This car was displayed in a classic car show here in 2010, and that has been its only outing in many years. Not any more. If you keep your 'best' too long, it won't be 'best' any more. Rust never sleeps.! These days we live within a hundred metres of the sea - so the salt air will attempt to eat our cars quicker than a quick thing. Time to get some use before that happens. The first day was great. Suspension feels tight and the motor is quiet. Damn I love these cars.!
Hope you are all having as much fun as I am.
Cheers, Kilroy
