Hi guys,

Ive decided to put the coupe on the road this year,as its still m.o.t'd ( i didnt even no) ,and ive changed the insurance over from my montego,to this car!! Ill be using it this year,as it is!!! but theres a few jobs that need tackling first!!

The gearbox has to come out to sort the clutch arm out,plus there a bit of rust around the headlights (as we all know!! ),plus some to lower wing/sill!! :roll:

So ive made a start,by stripping out the grotty interior,and cleaning it all up....the carpets are well past it,the driver's seat is in shreads,but the floor plan is pretty solid,after i took most of it off with a sanding disc!!!





In the engine bay,the radiator is shot,and so is the header tank....so ive managed to strip those out,and flush the engine with clean water,after it was a dirty black colour!!!

Thermostat need changing,plus i need to clean that engine bay,and fit new battery terminals!!



And finally the dreaded headlight surround and wing/sill will need addressing,but ill come to that lator!!

Ouch! that wing looks nasty! I'm currently getting my saloon recommissioned for the road again after being laid up for 3 years without turning a wheel. I have stripped and rebuilt the brakes, tided up the wings and welded a small piece on the chassis and floor pan where the jacking point used to be. My rad is looking poor too but I have a new one in the loft which I will fit and I will get the old one rebuilt. When my car is done it will then become my daily driver!

Good to see you are keeping Reynard after all mate 8) One of the best Marina colours without a doubt!

Cheers Josh, I decided to keep it rather than break or sell it. Reynard is a low mileage car and the mechanicals are spot on. 3 years of standing outside hasn't done him many favours

a colour named after a bit of roadkill (fox) ever thoughtfull leyland lol
