Hi all,
A friend recently showed me these photos of a MK1 coupe with a GT badge on it?

Were MK1s ever badged as such or would it be a later addition, I notice it's an N reg car so could possibly have been during the changeover to MK2?

Could it be a TC badged as a GT?
But it has the early MK1 opening front quarter lights.
Where is this car?
It looks interesting with a good colour combination as well.
Also has leather steering wheel, TC door cars and seats as well!!!!

Missing some TC trim like pedal rubbers and centre consul.

I believe it is in Hemel Hempstead somewhere.

It's definitely a TC, no idea r.e. the quarterlights, did later MK1s not come with them? Optional extra maybe?

Almost looks like a yank GT,no morris letters on the back plate, opening quarter lights...converted to rhd? Not sure what year they where exported. Or just a TC with a few extras

LBW 354N is registered as an Austin too...

DVLA gives date of manufacture as 1975, first registered 23/6/1975.

Unlicensed since 1986.

If it's reshelled then it won't be for the American market at all then, well unless you keep that trim and the quarterlights

What a rare find Josh! ...now putting my geek head on :geek: , that car is definitely export spec the opening quarterlights were an export option, the trim colour is from an early car and the painted pinstripe is clearly visible, the proper `75 TC`s were all fitted with vinyl roofs and they had cloth seats, not vinyl, that trim is from a `72 TC it is called Geranium and is the same as i have in `Doris the morris` ;) that would indeed be a great car to reshell if it could be saved.

Someone call Andy or Dave up this needs to be found just for the hell of it and the story

May also have Sundym glass then which is worth saving and I can give the new owner a parcel shelf to start off with - looks like it will need it

Plus half the steering cowl is still there and I may have a match half for it as well!

Not sure I like the front middle seat though, could only do a few miles on that before getting a sore bum

My friend has also pointed out that the 'BW' plate might have Cowley/Longbridge connections?

I will see if I can get him on here with some more details if possible.

Will do Andy, I've asked him if he can join up here. Quite exciting to see that there might possibly be some chance of this one coming back to life!
