Fundraising for the NEC show stand.

Last year Tiny sorted lots of items that desperately needed updating but there is still more needed to complete a better looking stand so it’s my mission to try and raise some money purely for items to be used at National events. Unbeknown to many, there are several people in the club that put their hand in their pocket to buy things to be used for the good of the club-whether it be buying area flags and posters, signage used at the Nationals and Gazebos etc and more help is needed.

I have already had some people's cheques to go towards buying club signs/banners, carpet ( or other flooring material to be used for indoor events like the NEC ) and other much needed materials. If you feel you can help, no amount is too small then please send a cheque payable to the Morris Marina owners club TO MY PERSONAL ADDRESS as I will be collating the money ( please PM me for my address or say below and I will send it to you ) I wont be cashing the cheques till the end of October so feel free to date them as such.

Thank you so much for the donations so far. It all helps to represent the club in a more positive and professional manner and this year hopefully we will be able to afford a new floor covering to really show the cars off to their best.

There is a PayPal donations account that I set up for Darren White's funeral, do you want to use that?

That would be great Chris if possible. I'd like to know that whatever is donated IS used for the NEC floor covering so trying to keep it all seperate rather than people just posting cheques randomly into the club or whatever.

Thanks Andy. Can you put a reminder in the mag for me please? Can we also publish names in a future edition of who has donated as a thank you?

Thanks Guys.

£300 raised so far towards my target of £1000. :o

Ok, Thanks to Chris we can use the paypall account below:

donations@morrisital.org.uk

To avoid the club paying the PayPal transfer fee can you please gift the payment?

Thank you. I'll keep you all posted on progress.

Chris-I presume you can let me know when a payment has been made? Thanks.

Ok. So who's is going to be the first? :rolls: :rolls: ;)

The £300 so far from 3 members is a great start but some more would be great.

Even a spare tenner would be HUGELY appreciated.

The stand this year is just under 80 square meters and we are hoping to buy something that will last a few years i.e. not a carpet that wont fit the inevitable different sized stand next year. I would ideally like the rubber like click together tiles you can buy for garages etc ( like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Anti-Fati ... 031wt_1037 ) but carpet tiles and lots of double sided tape is another cheaper, but workable solution.

Thanks guys.

Had a couple of donations-thank you guys :)

I priced up carpet tiles yesterday at a local discount retailer ( Trago Mills ) which came to just under £550 - so we are a good way there :)

The garage rubber like tiles would be nearer £900 :( Maybe out of our reach-we will see.

There are some cheaper ones on ebay that look the same but only in black. I had a quick work out that at 80m2 we would need about 220 tiles which works out at about £520.these also come with the edge bits.
In the long run I would think these would be better than carpet tiles and a lot less messing about with double sided sticky tape,as Blue Peter would say.

Totally agree with you. First choice is blue but black might be the best compromise. :)

No it won't. Go to the PayPal website and log in and click on send money. Enter that email address above and gift your millions over

Thank you :)

Had another couple of generous donations-thank you very much :)

Also had a couple ask for my address to send a cheque to so we are starting to creep up but still away to go.

If anyone can spare a bit of cash it would be greatly appreciated. I'll ask Andy to publish a thank you bit in the mag once all donations are in. Might be your chance to get your name in print :)

Thanks to all of those so far.
