Marinas articles in the classic car weekly papers

Plenty of Marina/ BL interest in this weeks classic press. Firstly Richard Gunn's buyers guide/profile is mostly cribbed from the old Practical Classics buyers guide. However, he goes on to say that "the Marina suffered from poor reliability" - What a load of codswallop! Whatever the Marina suffered from it was not poor reliability. In fact reliability was one of the cars strong points! No long term test or comparison test i have ever read has mentioned this, in fact the opposite is true and most praise the reliability:
"The Marina was launched as a replacement for both the Minor 1000 and
the Austin A60/Morris Oxford...As far as we can tell from our experience
the Marina is every bit as reliable and robust and is being welcomed by fleet
managers and garages for its lack of headaches and troubles."
Autocar Long Term (25000 mile) Test, Feb 73
Peter Simpson's article in Classic Car Buyer on BL cars gives the Marina a much better and more considered write up and is well worth checking out.
