8) my aol has been down all night and i like frank have missed all the fun seemingly. ok its good to slag the minor owners but there is a serious side to it.what if that guy tells his fellow minor owners about our forum (and you can bet he will ) all that we are saying about them and their cars, just watch more marinas disappear because of it.
if no marina owners want to buy stus marina and he wants the cash what other option has he? devil and the deep blue sea springs to mind.

Yeah true Larry but if push really comes to shove then I would do my best to stop it from happening even if that means buying the car myself (funds prevailing) and storing it until such times as a Marina enthusiast wants it. I know that we can’t save them all but butchery is bad. Your really lucky that Mk1Shaun saved the J plater from a Minor berk as the J plater ended up in the breakers yard and was hours from total destruction.

8) that is very true sean. it would have been criminal if the "j" had been crushed, but on the other hand when you see the video that ray took at andy morris place, when will all those cars be put on the road ??

Well that’s true Larry, Andy has a huge choice of cars to restore but sometimes the addiction does that to you and before you know it your collection has started breeding. I got into this trap once and when it was time to let some of the cars go it was hard as I grew very attached to them but letting them go to new homes meant that they were going to get looked after better. Is Andy willing to sell any?

One thing they haven`t probably thought of here Larry is, the more Marinas they scrap the rarer they become, and the rarer they become the more valuable they become, and so we get to the point where there are thousands of boring old Minors running around and and nobody wants them because they are two a penny!!! so everyone starts buying Marinas instead because they are "rarer", and therefore more valuable, so then they all think...wish i`d kept the Marina instead of this boring old jellymould, at least then my classic car would be a rare one  8)  ...i think it has started already, all i ever seem to see at classic car shows is loads of common cars such as Minors and MGB`s, and i `ll tell you something else i have noticed lately that you never used to see...lots of Minors and MGB`s in the scrapyards too...the tide is turning chaps, hold on to your babies

8) now you mention it frank there does seem to be a lot of mgs in the scrapyards. i was in a garage last week and was offered a 69 mgb roadster ,and honestly it was knackered and he wanted a grand for it..crazy money. mind you today i was offered a "k" plate escort cossy convertible for 8 grand looked all right as well.

Yes if you watered it down slightly but it might melt the gun so you would need to be quick. Best using a brush and paint it on

Yes i wasn`t kidding Larry this past year or two i have noticed more and more Minors and MGB`s being broken...a few years back that would never have happened, especially as you can now get new shells etc, i think the following for them is actually shrinking as the following for 70`s icons like ours is growing  8)

8) so who determines what various models of marinas are worth.? practical classics ??. they have been carrying the same values for our cars for a number of years now, while the numbers are rapidly decreasing. so who determines when the values rise ???

About time too, especially for a design that was conceived in the 1940’s. Overstayed their welcome I think!

Market forces Larry, as usual, Ebay will probably start to set the pace on values...lets face it Practical Classics hasn`t bothered to update the Marina prices for years, what do they know? i don`t expect they have bothered to check Marina values since they first printed the prices they are carrying now
