The good old days :-D

Alpine'd Avenger :wtf: , Mk 3 'tina, 120why :rolls: . Can (just! :shh: )remember when they were all new and plentiful  .

Was the colour unique to the Jubilee, or was it just another of those BL parts bin "specials", like the Mini 25? Must admit I've only seen the Jubilee on this forum ::(: .

Colour (Citron) was created for the Jubilee and then was used after on Allegros and MGBs etc
Just found the clip on You tube The Bill Season 1 - Long Odds - Link
Check out 28:47 mins and 37:00 mins

According to this site Link it is a Jubilee but can't read the number plate - anyone got a high resolution copy and large telly?

It may be still a live. There are a few other Marinas in this Bill clip as well I think a bottle green one.

Hmmm,
Difficult one.
Its def a TC of some sort. . . . .
I think I can see a webasto roof and plenty of badging/underriders.
But no headrests? And Sundym glass.
The coachline goes all around the sides and boot unlike a Jub I saw on here recently?
with also the reverse lamps on a grey like mine does.

However in the later clip you can just make out the wheels which in my eyes
look skinny and shiny so I'm going Jubilee! The only doubt is that Jubs had black door mirrors? But this car has wing mirrors..prob aftermarket , but it was probably 8-10 years old when this was shot.

Icidentally when I was looking at the Marinas yesterday the guy also had an MGB in Citron
which he thought was awful . . . . . .I showed him a pic of mine and he said never mind!
Mind you, If you'd been looking at a TC in Burnt orange everyday for 35 years mine would look a bit loud!

The rear of the car looks correct to a Jubilee as Jubilees had the same set up as yours or the same as mine depending on when they were built.
I think in the shot on The Bill you can see Sundym glass.
Also the Jubilee you saw with the coach line missing on the boot lid should have it. Mine also was missing I think from memory.
Sun roofs were always after market as mine is.
There is very little difference between yours and a Jubilee.
Wheels and trim, Front quarter windows and roof lining. Not sure but does yours have head rests? I thought all TC after 1973 had tints and head rests plus cloth seats?

How is yours going?
Look nice in the picture.

The footage looked like the headrestraints were not there.....
Mine does have them and the same blue cloth btw, but only fixed quarter lights.
Looking back at the tv footage I cant see the black passenger door mirror as its not on the TV car. Might be that its 'gone' hence the wing mirrors....or IS IT a TC.?
My back flash looks like the greyish one from a mk2 1.8HL.
I got one the other day and also one off ebay which were much 'blacker' than the one on my own car.As is the Tv car's backflash and Fruity's.

You can also see the cheap plastic guttering and cheaper rear screen insert too
which Jub's seem not to have as the stainless stuff is on fruity's.

All cars with a vinyl roof would have had plastic gutter trim to my knowledge but I have fitted stainless from a 1972 saloon.
Bugger to fit but when it is on it lasts unlike the plastic which now is hard to get unless you want it off the roll with no formed ends.
My back flash trim was grey (HL?) but now Black. They do fade with age and polishing

Many cars also lost there rear screen stainless when the rubber fitted was a MK2 type or later but I have managed to fit mine in a MK2 rubber but after that the skies were blue for a few weeks
I thought all TC's and Jubilees had wide stainless trim

The later windscreen trim came in during 1975 (before MK2 changeover, often late N and P reg MK1s have it) for all models so wouldn't have thought any Jubilees would have left the factory with it. DLs had it from start of production in 1971 so it may have been used for replacement screens before 1975. Did they actually change the rubber or just the trim?

I wonder if with some heat the plastic type trims could be reshaped to give the end effects? Failing that stick on chrome bends easily! (although I thought the off the roll trim that East Kent can do would be similar to the stick on chrome stuff).

Screen rubbers are different - trust me after fitting both in mine. MK2 rubber with wide stainless in is a bugger to fit but I have noticed many MK1s have the MK2 rubber fitted.
I think Graemes Purple Auto TC and TC saloon with wide TC rims.
Plastic could be shaped but I think the chrome finish would suffer under the heat.
I have some plastic hear so could try it out. Or just sell them to someone who needs the trim?

Technically they are both MK1 rubbers seeing as MK1 DLs used the 'MK2' rubber :geek:

Well worth going to the effort of fitting the stainless trim and stainless gutters, look soooo much better than the plastic stuff. I fitted new plastic windscreen trim to JWC and it was beginning to get manky in the corners after a month.
