Barry - really sorry to hear that, what a shame, are you alright?
Which of your fleet will come out of winter hibernation?
Will you get the chance to buy it for its parts, shame to see them go for scrap?

Im alright but gutted about the car shes been a faithful old girl over the last 6 years or so and has never let me down only last ytear when the head gasket let go so not bad when i only paid £75 for her,she dosent owe me anything
marinas are not that flismy as modern cars, both the rear cars golf and seat ibiza, passengers taken to hospital,bu they were both moving when they hit each other and then me.
petrol tank had about £40 fuel in at and didnt split thank god but did detach itself from the boot floor and had be tied up for recovery.
sadly the rear tow bar that was fitted was bolted to the boot floor and i think this is why it destroyed the boot floor as the golf had to be prised of my marina has it had wedged itself onto it.
hopefully get it back for some mechanical parts, just had a replacement cylinder head on and has a gold seal gearbox on it,good discs etc etc
thanks everbody
best regards
barry

Sorry to read see of your Marinas demise, glad to hear you walked away (any crash you can walk away from is a good one, no matter how much we love our cars they are just that "cars" and can be replaced) you arn't so easy to replace eh?. good to see she stood up that well to a double ender +
hope you find a suitable replacement
i tend to leave mine in their garages when it gets icy, i trust my driving and skills it's all them other idiots who think (as they sit in their warm air conditioning air bagged ABS'd full of safety features cars can still stop on a sixpence, proof here they don't, no matter how many "safety features" they have.. Skill full driving and common sense is much better ..
all the Best Eamonn

The fuel tank did exactly what it was designed to do in this sort of crash; good old forward-thinking British engineering for you!
I'd get the book thrown at BOTH of the tits who hit you; in this day and age theres no reason for it at all apart from brain-switch-off-syndrome caused by driving a bland Eurobox
Get yourself checked over as well by a doctor. You can guarantee someone will be ambulance chasing already and the 'bloke in the crappy old car' will be first port of call; if you can prove injury/non-injury it will help your case.
Tough old buggers these Marinas!

Shame about the car Barry but as long as your alright what the heck. I'm in full agreement with the idea of getting yourself checked out. My daughter only mentioned that she had a pain and they paid her a tidy sum. She didn't even know she was getting it.

Not nice.
On the plus side, at least you walked away to feel miffed about it. Better than the alternative, eh?
The car looks to have held up well. The cabin area looks like it hasn't deformed at all. I would have thought it'll be at least a CAT C write off. Doesn't look bad enough to be a B? It'd be a heck of a long job to make it right again, though?
It's a shame, but even as an enthusiast sometimes you've got to step back and say "its only a car" there's always going to be another, but there'll never be another you.
Take it easy for the next few days. I've never had an accident myself, but have had the misfortune of being a passenger in one. It's the next day when things will start to hurt a bit. I had a stiff neck for a couple of days but things soon subsided.
All the best,
Jon.

Glad to see your ok but sorry about your car .I dont think you would have been able to walk away if you were in a modern eurobox.
