Re: A question to the Forum users
overall i think its good, personally i would like the "for sale" and wanted section to be just as a regular posting and not a separate ad-section. and thats about it.
For new sections : maybe a section for scanned advertising materials/brochures etc.

I agree, afraid I just don't think the classifieds bit works.norway_triumph wrote:overall i think its good, personally i would like the "for sale" and wanted section to be just as a regular posting and not a separate ad-section. and thats about it.

Cheers Ben!
Re: A question to the Forum users
I enjoy the banter that there is and the general helpful attitude amongst members.
I love pictures and seeing what people are doing and how they do it which is why I'm such a fan of Frank's workshop and the readers projects lounges. I think it gives people encouragement to get on with their own projects.
I think the for sale and wanted items being in a different place from the discussion makes it a bit hard to follow but I think that's the only thing I would say as a suggestion.
Any forum is only as good as the information that people put in so I think it's up to people to contribute positively where they can (Not everyone can have or wants to do full high quality rebuilds). It's great to see the Sunday club antics and even people posting up about simple things such as giving their cars a wash or going for a good drive. (I miss Kilroy's epic roadtrip blogs..)
EDIT: Just tried to search for the old club photo thread and found the search function seems a bit limited though i know that is a feature of the forum software than anything else.
I think that an 'Image lounge' might be good for those random photos that don't fit into other lounges

Re: A question to the Forum users
Hi Ben, i must admit i agree with the others re..the adverts, but apart from that i think it is pretty much spot-on, as Fergus has said a photo lounge of brochure images and photos would be nice for reference purposes (feel free to trawl my photobucket images if it will help)
, otherwise, keep up the good work mate

It doesn't display very well on my netbook 'cos of the menus down the side, but it's far from unique in that and it's my fault for having the silly thing instead of a proper computer!
Other than that- and I agree on the classifieds, it's better now the forum section is back but it does make it a bit confusing too- I think it's pretty damn good

Re: A question to the Forum users
I'm not a big fan of the separate classifieds section either, much prefer it integrated into the forum.
I think another section for events (if members post up about events etc in their area) and maybe another one for events pictures would be good? At the moment they seem to get a bit lost in the main section, unless it's a big event which gets sticky'd.

As for the photos, thanks Frank, I shall have a trawl.
And yes Matt, I agree, you can buy the beer!

I agree about the For Sale pages, also the various bits on the front page seem a bit jumbled.

Re: A question to the Forum users
I see what you mean. The reason I did it was because the front page was a bit static and looked like it was never updated. This way it changes regularly and we can attract owners from around the globe through social media. It's just another advertising platform for the car, that's all.
