I have a cunning plan..

.. spoken in true Baldric style..!

I am closely following the two Marinas on Trademe over here - Ben linked pics on the 'Dang' thread.

The Mk3 has reached reserve at $1005 and stayed put since.
I plan to up the bid at the eleventh hour and keep it going until the opposition gets tired or falls over - to a maximum of about $1600.

The TC has received no bids at all - it has featured several times before at around $2500 but not left the starting blocks.
It has a starting bid of $1500 - but the seller has already indicated that the reserve is $2000.
I shall also leave this one until late - then bid $1500 - in the knowledge that if he really wants to quit it - he is likely to make a fixed price offer to all bidders.
I figure $2000 is my top limit.

I have absolutely no idea where on earth I'm going to keep them - my yard is already full to overflowing - but they both have cloth seats, and they are worth heaps..!

(must be an 'age' thing)

WooHoo.
Hope Sue's credit card has a fair bit of leeway. Mine's maxed out already and my enquiries today about raising the limit were met with polite indignation. Seems I have to pay to get back to the current limit before they will raise it.
No sense of humour at all..!

Can't they see its an EMERGENCY!!

So far - so good...

Have just won the auction for the 1981 Mk3.
The TC was passed in as it did not reach reserve of $2000 - although the seller had already disclosed that fact - so I put a bid in at just over $1500 so that my name would appear as an interested party - thinking he might make a fixed price offer.
Instead - he immediately relisted - so its back with the same first bid of $1500 - perhaps the reserve will have come down.
I will keep an eye on it to see what transpires.

Meanwhile - I'm waiting for the Mk3 seller to notify me.. :D

More anon.
