Well it's taken 11 months and a lot more work than originally planned, but took my Ital van for Mot today, first time it's been driven for 15 years! hell of a first road test. Passed first time no advisories, tester let me set the mixture during the test, and also adjust the headlamp alignment on the tester. So now taxed, tested and insured for the next 12 months. Having done far more panel work than expected it is now mostly in primer and just about ready for top coating, still not decided on original British Telecom yellow or (Inca Gold), or go completely different and go post Office red.
I will now have to start a readers projects thread to share my adventures with the van.
Cheers
Steve the happy vanman

Malta to Norway, now that's a real save,

all I had to do was persuade the owner not to cut it up for scrap, arrange with the owners of the adjoining property (a Lord of the Realm no less) to drive the loadall over their lovely garden and, lift the van over the hedge all without causing any damage to the garden, hedge or van. Luckily the van owners neighbor/mate was a great help, being on the spot he was able to sort the logistics of it all, and for that I am very greatfull. Seemples.....

By the time I had travelled the 120 mile round trip to veiw, returned with trailer and driver, paid for the van, collection and various other expenses the van owed me £750 by the time I got it home, and until 11 months later when I went for the MOT I still didn't know if it would drive o.k. gearbox, axle etc.

well chuffed when all worked as hoped.

. Although I haven't needed to spend out on many parts I have probably spent another £200ish to get it to the primer stage

. You gorra lu Marina's
More to come soon
Cheers

Now that's dedication.
If you put even half as much into the titivation phase that's going to be one tidy little van!
