Hi all,
Does anyone know the size/thread of the tappet adjuster nuts on the 1275cc engine? I have one with a partially stripped thread and would like to buy some, but cant find them. If anyone knows where I can buy these please let me know.
thanks
Chris

don't know the size but will think mini-spares/minimania and similar mini-specialists have them

If a link was changed to "ebay linky" then that was probably Sam, because she's sad..

Re: Tappet adjuster nuts
There are three different types dependent on the age of your car/engine. BL changed the design of the tappet rocker and the tappet screw with it. As the 1275 Mini engines of the same period shared the same parts there is a readily available supply.
The tappet rockers will be one of these three designs, once you have identified the tappet rocker design I can tell you the part number of the tappet screw.
1. A pressed steel style where BL just squeezed a thick metal tube flat.
2. A cast type that still shows the casting surface on the parts that aren't machined.
3. A billet style from sintered steel which looks like it has been machined from solid steel.
If you are not sure post a picture of your rockers in situ and I'll let you know.

www.somerfordmini.co.uk list all three types with different part numbers for each type of rocker and each type of matching tappet screw.
