Well they didn't wreck them but they weren’t very kind either. Good old British Broadcasting Corporation supporting a British product…………………NOT! It would be a different story if BL were Italian, German or even French don't you think?

Its no wonder we lost our motor industry when pillocks like that continue to debase our heritage with irrelavant tests like that !!

Yes very true but at least it’s good to know that we are paying a TV licence for these ar$ehole$ at the BBC to use our money wisely and give the British motor heritage a good write up. Even when BL were producing cars they still had to have a dig at them. If it was up to me to make sure the bills were paid in my house I certainly wouldn’t pay my TV licence and I have always said this but my Mrs likes to do things right whereas I’m a rebel and a Jedi warrior!

:roll: Clarkson and his b*m chums did it again...just thank our lucky stars it wasn`t us this time!!, they managed to make the dolly sprint look like a total pile of sh*t...unbolted the doors on the SD1 so they would conveniently fall off, and let down the suspension on the princess....then to rub salt into the wound they got what looked like a good condition Datsun 120Y to put up against them on the track :roll: , they of course let the Stig drive that one, so that all the others would definitely be slower...rigged or what eh!!, still we should have known they would do this as they love to bash BL on Top Gear

Yes Frank true BBC fashion. I’m gonna email them for a refund on my licence fee as they are filling our screens with $hite these days. It was a definite rig to say the least and remember the Datsun 120Y probably would have been serviced etc and not bought straight out of the paper like the BL motors. At the end of the day any old car like the ones featured on Top Gear can be bad cars or good cars no matter who manufactured them. Once a car leaves the factory and showroom its up to the individual to look after them. The Top Gear team bought the examples that were quite obviously not cared for and made a mockery of BL. Besides I don't believe that they paid £1100 for each car judging by their condition, if so they were robbed! :roll:

Apparently that Datsun was a sub 30k one owner car, no doubt given a good service as well.
As for the water test, the SD1 lost becasue it has ventilated sills, surely?
True, good that they did not trash a Marina.

Yeah it does make a change given the fact that they totally killed a Marina the last time At least these cars featured can be sold on and restored properly

I shall have to watch it on Wednesday as Ben unfortuntley doesn't have a TV in his car

I personally believe if my pickup was in that challenge without any of those dipsticks driving them then the BBC would definately have owed me money at the end,although I can't think of any car 2CV excepted that would do any good in the egg test :x
