.. oh - you know how it goes..!

10 years ago - I put a BMW sticker on the back of my Marina estate - maybe I was a wannabe - but at some stage later - I decided the sticker was demeaning - to Marinas..!
So lately I took the only action that I could think of as being appropriate...

I hope that will appease the most ardent Marina stalwarts..!

Lately - I am mainly blacking-out grilles...

Tomorrow I shall travel 100 miles to collect the latest addition to the fleet..

Should be a blast...

Strange indeed..!

Even stranger to be collecting said vehicle from a rather obese car salesman who appeared to be interested in the info I had sent him prior to the pickup - and meantime he had somehow located a link to my website...

THIS IS THE STRANGEST CAR..!
It has had thousands of dollars spent on it - I have the receipts - yet it has the most glaring faults.
Steering pulls to the right..
The gearlever travels far further than it should - to the point that it moves the console..
Boot lock falls out at the least provocation (remote fitted)..
Speedo cable hangs down under the car so far it looks like an arrester hook just waiting to be snagged..
Dashboard rattles alarmingly because securing nuts have been left off..
Frankly - it seems to be the sort of car that has been referred to mechanics every time anything has gone wrong - and the mechanics have been deaf..!
Only the sort of stuff that a bit of care and attention would put right - but it hasn't happened yet.
Well - it will now..!
Drives well otherwise - and a duff water pump is the only mechanical failing I can level at it - oh, and the temp gauge doesn't work.
Apart from that - its a fine car and we spent today towing various trailerloads of rubbish to the tip with it. No problems at all.
I shall begin the detail work this week - although I already have another car in for the same attention - the more the merrier I guess.
Watch this space...

It would appear that the upholstery has been redone - as well as the paint, rebuilt gearbox, clutch, distributor and carb and alternator - I think they saw this guy coming...!

More to follow..
