Hi Lee,

On my SDL Coupe I used MGB parts, the exhaust and inlet manifolds were different thicknesses, with the inlet being thicker. I marked the size of the washers on the inlet flanges and filed them down to the same thickness as the exhaust flange.

I filed the flanges on the inlet manifold. I can only think that the casting thicknesses varied over the years, I can't see any reason to have two different thicknesses putting the washers on an angle.

Have you checked any of the MGB forums to see what they say?

Washers are flat and both manifolds same thickness. Never had that problem.
