Absolute W##KERS

Post by 67coniston » Sun Mar 09, 2014 2:30 pm

Im sorry about the heading thats putting it mildly how I feel today. Friday was a good day new starter and alternator had arrived
the kids where at school and the wife was at her mothers so i was looking forward to tinkering on the old coupe.
Got it all sorted and running and generally ended the day very satisfied.
Got up Saturday morning to find someone had tried to steal the car but because I had taken the battery off the car ( fortunately) that must have peed them off so they decided before legging it to vandalise my baby. They thought it would fun to slice my seats which ive got to get recovered again, snapped off the rear view mirror which was a rare white bakerlite one and smash the steering cowl . No insurance as the cars been off the road on sorn while ive been getting her ready for some shows,so it fair to say im F***ked.
The seats gonna cost me about £600 but Im asking if anybody might have a white rear view mirror and a steering cowl going spare please let me know
Im in Essex. Im not asking for freebies I will pay for them Ive looked online and cant find any.
Please help.
Thanks
Terry :frown: :frown: :frown:

There are some low life's about, what colour steering cowl did you need, and is it both sides?

Is it a Mk1/2/3? The Mk1 cowl is different from later ones.

Absolutely no need for them to do that. I may have a brown cowl in the loft so I'll have a look for you

I've got a brown Mk 2 cowl defo, might have a black m1k 1 still but I'd have to check on that and I've got a dark blue vinyl front back seat cover but not the base part.

I will have a look but may have a white rear view dipping mirror but only the mirror and back not the fixing bit.
Not sure I still have a steering cowl but I will also check for you.

Can't help (actually- I think I do have a spare brown cowl, but so does everyone else by the sounds of it!), other than to offer my sympathies.

Do you have a more secure place to leave the car? Would hate for them to come back once you've fixed the damage.
