Renewal Time Again Insurance

I've been insured with Adrian Flux for over 25 years on Classics and American Cars, and always been happy with their prices and service... till this month..
When we collected the Marina Saloon last Wednesday got a premium..£63.60 Comp with agreed value under 2k miles Great Price so took it out.thinking they do appreciate my business i then had all 4 Marinas insured with them but then get a renewal on the Blaze Coupe due end of month.. £135.00 same cover, less agreed value (£15.00) .. asked why the big increase as i paid £65.00 last year, incl agreed value, straight away they dropped the premium to £95.00, still not happy i shopped around and got a quote for £67.00 same cover, and they then beat that price £65.00 and would include the agreed value, I searched further and have managed to find cover with lower excess, agreed value and salvage for £73.60 an extra £8.60 for a much lower excess.. so i'm changing the Blaze coupe over to them, they were upfront about their charges their doc fee £5.00 on each car,(Max £20.00) instead of AF £30 each (although AF will drop this on car 3 and 4,it's still £60.00 extra a year ) The price even with Adrian Flux wasn't an issue, it was just the way they dealt with the renewal, if the premium had gone up by £10 or £20.00 i'd probably not even bothered to shop around nothing goes down nowadays and Happy to pay £80- £90 a year.. and they would have kept my business, as it stands, i will be talking to Gott & Wynne and others when the others come due for renewal..and see if the new company can appreciate customer loyalty?
what are you paying for your insurances? and who are you insured with ?
I'm Paying..
1.3 Saloon £63.20 with Adrian Flux (Ren Due March 2015)
1.3 Coupe £73.60 with Gott & Wynne (Taking policy out March 2014)
1.8 Coupe £74.00 with Adrian Flux (Ren Due June 2014)
1.8 Estate £80.00 with Adrian Flux (Ren Due July 2014 )

Joint policy for both the TC and Special with agreed values of £15K and £10K.
All mods have been declared on the TC. Bargain! :)

^ How much?! Or is it a secret?

Mud is currently (just run out I think- in fact I've not had a renewal which is odd) with Grove & Dean, which was about £250- I was 24 with a fault accident 3 months previous.

I reinsured the Volvo with Lancaster this January as both it & me had hit 25 in the previous year so we could get it on a classic policy- that was about £220. When the Volvo goes (soon!) that'll be transferred to the Saloon, I suspect I won't be getting a refund but hopefully I can wrangle a decent agreed value out of them, or will be able to once it's got the rebuilt engine and 'box in.

My 1.3 DL saloon is with Peter Best for £265. Adrian Flux wanted a fortune for renewal, they guaranteed to beat any other quote but I was so impressed with the service at Peter Best I went with them (normally they don't do under 25s but instead they took the time to talk to me to find out if I was a true enthusiast or not). That's aged 21, fully comp, 3k miles, agreed value.

My Peugeot is with Tesco this year, think it was about £400 or so (fully comp, 10k miles, 3 years NCB), was only about £20 less than Aviva wanted for renewal but 'every little helps' :rolls:

My Coupes insurance is due on 17/05, currently with Adrian Flux on an agreed value modified comprehensive policy, spookily the renewal is also offered at £135.

I will shop around this year as it's due it's three yearly photoshoot to prove value, so I may as well get the cheapest going.

Anyone know who is good on modified policies at the moment?

Chris

They've always been brilliant before (and everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful as usual), but it took several attempts to get the details (Maestro spec. engine & manual 'box) right for the Saloon. Thought it should be farly routine stuff.
