Removing rear side-windows

Need to remove the glass from my coupe to do some repair work and wondered if anyone had successfully done this without
1.Breaking the glass, and 2. Re-using the seal. Just to clarify, I'm talking about the rear side windows on a Coupe. My B
pillar needs some work, and Ideally the glass and seal needs to come out so I can effect a decent repair. I've had a quick
look on the forum, but couldn't find anything. So. Had anyone done this?

The seals are made of unobtainium as is the glass. So unless you have already picked up some used or NOS replacements, I would be very careful when removing them.

If you do plan to break the glass, you could have Pilkington make up some replacements but they would need a pair to model the new ones on. The other option would be plexi glass.

When I had my Coupe done the guy was able to get the glass and rubbers out complete so they could be re-used.

Make yourself comfortable lying along the back seat with your feet facing the window to be removed,
Have a friend standing outside to catch the window,
Steadily push with both feet on the narrow end of the window, increase the pressure until it starts to move,
It will become easier as the rubber starts to release from the window frame.
At some point the glass will be half in and half out of the from and you can pull it out carefully.
The glass and rubber will be intact with luck, but wear overalls and boot to protect yourself if the glass breaks.
With the glass and rubber out you will see 3 pop rivets holding the SS window sill finisher inplace.
Drill out the rivets and it will fall off.

Many years ago I did this in a scrapyards on my own (alot younger then) and similarly to remove front and rear screens with rubbers intact.

as martec says - but it also helps using some wide flat scredriwers to ease the inside of the rubber lip down and over the edge , ive done several this way and they rarely breaks
