Just joined the forum and plan on joining the club in the new year.

My Marina history is this:-

I got my first 1300HL in 1986 on a T plate.
Paid £650 for it.
All white and very shiny.
Should have had a really good poke around tho as you could put your hands up inside the doors from underneath.
No metal at all on any of the front doors.
Then I got hold of a 1700HLS with brown vinyl roof and that was a really good car,bar the inability to change down the box from 4th to 2nd,for tight left handers or traffic lights without grinding the gears.
Double de-clutching helped here.
Then after a few other brands, ended up with a bronze coloured 1300.
That was a total rust bucket and it failed it,s MOT and went to scrap.
Then,in 1997 I had my final Morris.
An Ital in maroon and 1300 engine.
Very good car bar one really bad wing.

I,ve always liked these cars and still kick myself for passing over a 1.7 auto,a few years back.

In the new year I intend to empty my lock up of it,s current(expensive) occupant and get a REALLY good Mk 3 in 1.3 or 1.7HLS.
Auto or manual.
Preferably in a nice metallic colour.
Hope to be a regular here :)

Nice Porka! So let me get this right.. You are selling a Porsche to get a Marina? Good man!

Every car I,ve ever owned,I,ve always done "the right thing" by them.
This one has been no exception.
This year I,ve spent over £1000 getting this one sorted and I,ve still not finished.
Tho to be fair,I could use it everyday.
There is MOT until next July.
Just need to replace some slightly corroded pipes on the back, get the rear hatch to open smoothly and sort out the tempremental sunroof.
It is the more desirable S version,so same engine as 944.
All belts changed and new water pump, over £300 in spares alone.

Give it a good valet, maybe pop some BMW polaris silver on the alloys and there,s a car to drive and enjoy.
Best bit tho,is some parts are the same as Mk2 VW Golf and as such, almost a third of the price of Porsche spares.

Indeed,a Porsche for a Marina.
Easier to live with and probably a little easier on the walet :) Possibly
