8) was the early marina stub axle different.?? i have a new stub axle in my garage and there are fewer threads on the lower half compared to another stub axle i have. its definitely not minor as they were completely different. i checked my old "j" plate but they have been changed.
anyone throw any light on it. something sticks in my mind that early ones were different :?

Yes the stub axle comes out of the kingpin lower than the later ones, try finding early trunnions!!. If you only have one, take my advice & bin it!!
see my earlier response to V6 Pop's question.

I've got a NOS Unipart early Trunnion, it actually tells you in the fitting instructions that the handling capabilities of the car will be adversely reduced if they are fitted and not to courner over 30mph.
CLASS!
