What have you done to your Marina this christmas............

With all the time off Ive had this christmas Ive been able to get to work on the old girl.
The brake rebuild was completed before the break but I still had the stuck clutch from when it was in storage by the previous owner.
The exhaust rear box had rusted to bits and I made up a makedo straight pipe just so I could drive it about(read loudly!)in vain hope the clutch would release itself. Not being t&t or insured ment going up and down my close.
On sunday I decided to use a rear box I had been given by craig(crashbang on here),minus the pipe work he had cut off!,and proceeded to make this fit by welding a combination of pipework and joints onto it.
All went well and it now sounds legal and looks good with its 2" tail pipe poking out the back.
A few hours later I find myself at the Hospital walk in centre,I had got a piece on Marina stuck in my right eye and it was beginning to hurt!!
Two hours later(its now 10pm)Im back home with the Marina bit removed...all I can say is Ouch! :(
The next day Im out playing with my strobe light timing it up and adjusting the carb mixture, fixing up some of the loose hoses. It now runs well sweet and ticksover nicely,it was well rough before.
Today Ive had the chance to get her out on the road again in a vain hope the clutch will release, and to my great relief as I was having trouble selecting 3rd gear the clutch broke free and worked perfectly. :D :D
Temptation was to then drive around with a grin on my face but no,it was back to the garage before anyone saw me.
Front wheels are now off and ready for the two new tyres to be fitted tomorrow and then its MOT time ......tax and insurance will follow and then you wont be able to stop me. :P

So,what have you been upto.....................................................

Well done! ! Apart for the A+E visit it looks like you have made good progress!

This holiday I have fitted the rebuilt engine, stripped off the suspension and am ready to replace the brake lines/ fuel lines and tank.

Car is at my friends place at the moment so play has stopped until the 2nd! Not at work until the 7th =) In the mean time I've had my daily driver in pieces... Oh the fun never stops!

8) over the last couple of days i have removed the back axle and springs, undersealed the rear chassis legs, fitted 2 new rear springs, overhauled and painted the back axle. new adjusters, cylinders, shoes fitted new brake pipes made, new rear flexi pipe fitted and reassembled the back end and dropped it onto its wheels. its sitting quite high. looks like one of them funny cars, but once i bleed up the brakes and rattle it over a few bumps it will settle down fine.
all done in the runway. its better outside anyway as you get more room. ideally you want it in a garage and up on a ramp, but if you cant get access to a garage you have just got to get on with it while the weather is dry. a good bit done this christmas to the marina.

Been out driving around after getting the free road tax today, all was well until the steering started to get stiff and notchy the more I used it!!!
Back to the garage and jack the front up,disconnect the trackrod ends to see if it was the trunions...no its the steering rack.Pop the cover off and the bearings are just rust!!,,O dear
So,after a very short burst of excitement its off the road until a new rack can be found...the hunt begins.
