Clutch slave seals

Morning guys noticed that the clutch slave has started to leak so which seal does this fit
Mop rod m71540
My slave is very loose in the bell housing so I think it maybe the early slave

If it is an early one, yes.

Also same as P6 iirc...

The Moprod clutch slaves are cast in aluminium rather than iron. The piston has two seals, one similar to the Girling or Lockheed units and a second plain O ring to support the other end of the steel piston, to avoid it rubbing on the aluminium casing, unlike the single seal in the iron units. I believe that the ally ones are all 7/8" diameter which is standard bore for everything after about 1972 (Josh will know the changeover chassis number).

I have a cast iron 1" bore slave sleeved in stainless steel on the shelf as well as plenty of 7/8" ones, also some NOS piston/spring & seal kits for 7/8" iron slaves.

I have a mop rod on my car. Works well and has so far proved reliable.
I never understood why this design was never fitted in the first place.
They've a doddle to fit . And remove.

Sadly I don't know the changeover number as I haven't got a MK1 parts book but I'd be surprised if it was an early one.

Cheers guys I'll whip it out tomorrow and have a look I do have a piston and seal kit hope it's the right one
